"The details are not the details-they make the design"

ux to profit

UX to PRofit

The Goal

UX to Profit is a program for experienced copywriters looking to increase their skills in UX writing.  This long-form sales page was to be added to an existing website, using the existing brand colors and fonts but needing an exciting new design that would hook the reader and keep them scrolling down.

THE BUILD

This brief came with 18 pages of copy that all needed to go on one page and keep the reader’s attention all the way to the bottom of the page to the checkout link.  This page was built using subtle animations, strong bold Call-To-Actions throughout and jump links down to the checkout area so that folks could plenty of opportunities to purchase as they were reading.

Ragged Hill Orchard

The Goal

The goal with Ragged Hill was to create an informational website that showcases all the different varieties of fruit grown, and encourage people to come visit this beautiful spot in West Brookfield, MA.

THE BUILD

This project was really fun-the original website had been built using Flash Player technology which is no longer supported.  It took a bit of digging to go back and retrieve all the site’s content.  The build includes incredible drone footage from above the orchard and a catalog of all the different apples grown, along with ratings for different uses.

Palmer Farmer's MArket

The Goal

The Palmer Farmer’s Market is a new market starting up late in 2021.  They needed a logo that is eye-catching and bright but simple enough to translate easily to be used for a variety of print and digital applications.  I imagine this logo will be used eventually on signage, t-shirts, canvas bags etc.

THE BUILD

Palmer is known in Western Massachusetts as “The Town of Seven Railroads” so incorporating a train was a way to pay tribute to that and give this logo a unique element.

Michele Carver Performance Horses

The Goal

This website was built several years ago using a GoDaddy page builder.  The goal was to create a better experience for the user and showcase everything that this exceptional training facility has to offer.  We started by migrating the domain and hosting to our server, and then started a complete rebuild of the site.

THE BUILD

I wanted to switch it up a little for this website-the entrance animations on the homepage are really fun and different.  We consolidated some of the pages, which provides a better user experience with less clicks but more quality content on each page.

S&W Excavation

The Goal

This was a quick turnaround site for S&W Excavation out of Hadley MA. They are a new business established in 2021, and wanted to start off strong with a sleek and professional website.  They do many different types of work, so categorizing it in a way that makes sense to people searching for their services was important.

THE BUILD

This website is a typical brochure site with some fun extras added.  The home page features a before & after slider that shows off an impressive demolition job they did.  Incorporating their videos and photos gives potential clients a more personalized feel as to what they do-and including their company mascot (their dog, Duke) on the About page is a great way to connect with customers!

Horse Camping MA

The Goal

This website and rebrand is for a campground where you can bring your horse with you and ride through state forests.  Reevaluating their ideal client helped us create a look that is fun and outdoors-themed, using fonts and icons reminiscent of signs you’d see at campgrounds.  The owner needed a form where people could request bookings and contact her directly.

THE BUILD

This website conveys a well-run establishment with clear rules for guests, but also showcases how much fun it is to camp there using photo galleries and subtle animations of the text boxes and icons.  A call-to-action above the fold encourages people to jump down to the booking request form right away.

THE Radiance Hotel PRoject

The Goal

The Radiance Hotel project is a startup business venture that required an informational website where people can be kept up to date on the progress and also become project backers.  There are eight tiers of support and about twenty gifts to choose from, depending on your contribution amount.

THE BUILD

To collect payment, this site is built using software that allows for a one time or recurring payments, integrating with Stripe.  Visual effects like animated dividers and icons add interest, and there is an interactive model of the hotel prototype where site visitors can learn about each aspect.  This build also involved significant user training for the site owners.  A library of personalized how-to videos was included for them to manage the payments and shipments.

MAple tree education

The Goal

Maple Tree Education is a subscription box for pre-kindergarten readiness.  The owner wanted an attractive site to sell the different subscription box models.  She also wanted the ability to print shipping labels for her boxes directly from the website dashboard.

THE BUILD

This website is built using Wocommerce and is setup with USPS to print shipping labels at discounted rates right from the backend.  The boxes are sold in single, 6 or 12 month subscriptions and special features to addon a second box, but only when purchasing the base subscription.  I did the logo design and branding for this website as well.

Region six AQHA

The Goal

Region 6 AQHA is an equine organization that puts on the largest Quarter Horse show in the Northeast every year.  Their old website was somewhat difficult to use, not optimized for mobile, and it was difficult to upload and find the results from each day of the horse show.  The new website needed to be attractive and easy to use.

THE BUILD

This website got a complete redesign and some major upgrades.  The design is clean and modern.  All of the horse show information is readily available for exhibitors to download from the homepage.  We added an email collection form and dropdown tabs on the results page to keep the results from each day organized and easy to find.  The sitemap was also reconfigured with the user in mind; making it easier to find what you’re looking for on the website faster.

Field service nation Co.

The Goal

Field Service Nation is a directory website for mobile mechanics all over the US and Canada.  Users can add their information to the directory and search for other technicians by location or services offered.  There’s also an online shop selling stickers, t-shirts and hoodies to people employed in the field.  The merchandise represents the hardworking outdoor lifestyle.

THE BUILD

This complex directory site was build using custom post types.  It features a front-end user submission form, an interactive directory maps, and a database of technicians that can be filtered two ways.  The e-commerce site is built using WooCommerce integrated with a print-on-demand company.  This way there is less risk because no inventory needs to be carried; orders placed on the site are sent to the printer and ship directly from there.  Multiple payment options (PayPal & credit cards) make it easy for shoppers.

The Hitching Post

The Goal

The Hitching Post is a mobile bar experience-the target market is folks planning upscale events.  This is a competitive space, so they needed a sleek, beautiful website that communicates the elegance their service brings to events such as weddings, graduations, corporate events and parties.

THE BUILD

This is a one page website with jump links to the different sections.  It shows off the beautiful professional photography the owner invested in, and the flow of the sections is meant to lead the visitor down to the contact form to make a booking.

Barking Bubbles

The Goal

Barking Bubbles is a dog grooming salon that recently celebrated their 10th year of business!  They needed a logo refresh to have a new sign made and to use for apparel for their employees.  The owner wanted to incorporate the big blue barn where the business resides, and wanted something “simple and flowy”

THE BUILD

This brand uses complimenting shades of blue, and the script font used in the center adds a feeling of luxury while the contrasting font keeps the logo sleek and elegant.  This conveys an elevated spa experience for your dog.

wainscott building

The Goal

The owner of Wainscott Building wanted a website that could showcase all of his projects and convey the quality of his work.  The company is family oriented and heavily involved in the community, and wanted to display that on the website as well.

THE BUILD

There’s no better way to show your work than with photos, and the owner had many.  They are showcased using sliders on the projects page.  Hiring a construction company can be daunting so we used testimonials to build trust, and included some family photos to build connection with visitors.

McNeil Customs

The Goal

McNeil Customs makes gorgeous metal signs with a CNC machine and needed a basic logo.  The owner wanted it to have the feel of a cowboy brand.

THE BUILD

This logo is designed to be easily recognizable in any version, and the connecting letters give the cowboy brand vibe especially when used independently of the full logo and tagline.  Three versions were created-a full version including the year established, the one you see here, and a brand mark using just the two initials.  This ensures that it will fit in any space.  Though this is an artistic business, the owner is not overly girly and I wanted to represent that in this logo.

Serenity Performance Horses

The Goal

Serenity Performance Horses needed a website that would stand out when folks searched for local horse trainers.  The owner prides himself on offering a peaceful, supportive environment for horses and riders to learn and grow, and the website needed to convey that feeling.

THE BUILD

This website uses fun elements such as floating images, parallax backgrounds and live illustration icons to keep the visitor interested in learning about the program and all it has to offer.  Dark, soothing colors convey the serene environment that the owner has created.
